ABOUT
DEPARTMENT:
The
Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering was
established in the year 2003 with an intake of 60 and intake
is increased to 120 from the academic year 2011-12. In
addition department is offering a PG programme in Power
Electronics specialization with an intake of 18. The
Department runs under graduate programme and post-graduate
programme to cater the challenging needs of technical
excellence in all areas of Electrical & Electronics
Engineering such as Automation & Distribution, Power
System & Energy Management, etc.
The Department of Electrical & Electronics
Engineering is one of the challenging departments in Swarna
Bharathi Institute of Science & Technology, Khammam with
distinguished and dedicated faculty. The department takes
active part in various academic, research as well as
co-curricular activities.. The faculty of the department has
been constantly carrying out research on many cutting edge
technologies. The faculty published the research in IEEE,
IEEMA and other reputed international and national journals.
The department is aiming towards having collaborative research
activities to make the student to acquire the problem solving
capabilities and hence to prepare them industry ready.
The Department organizes short term training
programmes, workshops and seminars in various specialized
fields with participants from the other engineering colleges
all over the country and professional engineers. During the
academic year Department organized Spike-shower 2010 and
Varchas 2K11 national level events for the benefit of the
students to exchange their ideas in the areas of tropical
interest.
The department has over 10 well equipped laboratories
and operates its own library, offering facilities to work in
all areas of Electrical & Electronics Engineering. The
department is well equipped with 45 numbers of PC, work
station hosting several software packages and link through a
local area network. A dedicated 5 Mbps broad band internet
service is available to cater the needs of the students &
faculty. Regular department staff meetings are conducted to
asses the functioning of the department and to incorporate
necessary bridge modules and teaching aids to make the student
a quick Lerner to face the challenges.
