•          SBIT has a highly specialized Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) Department established in the year 2003 with an annual intake of 60 that exposes students to a broad range of subjects involving advanced software technology and its application in industry. The curriculum relies heavily on industry-academia interaction and responds to the current needs and trends in the global software industry. Discipline, innovation and sense of commitment are the essential inputs, which give a cutting edge to the Department of Computer Science & Engineering in SBIT. The Department provides high quality courses as well as an excellent infrastructure and facilities.
•            The Department is committed to provide its students with quality education and overall development to inculcate a sense of integrity with academic and professional excellence.
•           The Director, Prof S. V. SURYANARAYANA, and The Principal, Prof K. RAMARAO with their strong determination and hard persevering work, have been the guiding spirit and inspiration behind the Department.
•            The intake of the Department has been increased from 60 to 120 in the Academic year 2006-07.
•           The department has also organizing M.Tech program in Computer Science from the academic year 2008-09 with an intake of 18.
•          The Department has been designed aesthetically on 1500 SqMts with 4 modern computer laboratories equipped with   latest Softwares and Hardwares.
•          The department has 198 branded Computers with latest configuration and 3 high end DELL Servers to cater the needs of the students.
•           The college has 760 branded Computers with latest configuration and 9 high end DELL Servers which are maintained by the Department.

Salient Features of the Department:

·         Every lab is equipped with latest branded computers with high-end configuration.

·         Every lab has one hour backup facility.

·         In every lab all the systems are connected on to the Local Area Network (LAN).

·         All computer laboratories are having high-end DELL Servers.

·         Labs are opened beyond the college hours.

·         Separate Internet center with 35 systems is available.

·         Un-interrupted dedicated wireless Internet connectivity of 5Mbps (1:1) bandwidth.

·         The college is also having the generator backup facility.

·         The college has MoU with Microsoft for using its software products on all computers of the campus. The MoU covers

§  Server Operating System softwares.

§  Operating Systems softwares.

§  Application softwares.

§  Product development package softwares

§  Covers application softwares.

·         The college has MoU with Microsoft for using all its system softwares and Application Softwares on all computers of the college.

·         The college has MoU with SONET for using Operating System softwares and Application Softwares on all computers of the college.

·         The College has MoU with IBM for using its Rational Rose software and running UML programs on the computers of the college.

·         The College has MoU with Oracle Corporation for using its database software and running database programs on the computers of the college.
