Training Programs for students
1.
The
Department is organizing various training programs for UG and PG for
the benefit of students on the latest technologies.
2.
The
students can enhance their skills on the emerging technologies to
meet the industry standards, needs and requirements.
3.
The
two most successful training programs organized by the department
are
a.
Foundation
Program(FP)
b.
The
Great Mind Challenge(TGMC)
4.
The
Foundation Program is sponsored by Infosys Techologies, Hyderabad in
collaboration with Institute of Electronics Governance
(IEG).
5.
Till
now department has trained more than 400 students on FP in 6
batches, 4 more batches are under training.
6.
With
the FP program in the college, the SBIT has been recognized as ADVANCED PARTNER COLLEGE IN THE
STATE by the INFOSYS and
IEG.
7.
With
the JKC center in the college, SBIT has been ranked as JKC* College. Now it became
a center for all JKC activities in the district. For the
examinations conducted by IEG on behalf of the Government of A.P,
the SBIT become the center for online examinations. Till today,
3-times IEG has conducted the examinations in
SBIT.
8.
We
conducted a work shop on “The Great Mind Challenges
(TGMC)†competition of IBM, a delegate from IBM has addressed
the students about the projects of IBM. The program is mainly
intended to bring awareness among the students on IBM products. The
staff has to encourage the students to do the IBM projects kept in
IBM site using their own software products.
i.
Around
300 hundred people from SBIT registered for this
program.
ii.
10-batches
have submitted their projects to IBM.
iii.
Staff
members from SBIT have been trained by IBM have guided the
students.
9.
IBM
has given their software to the college, which was also given to the
students for implementing the projects.
10.
In
addition to the above continuous activities department is also
organizing
a.
An
intra-department paper presentation competitions Tecsearch and Techspire once in every
year.
b.
Internal
seminars for the students of II, III and IV years to improve their
presentation and group discussion skills.
11.
The
Department has successfully organized ASPIRATION-2020 state
level program of the IEG
and INFOSYS in the month of AUGUST-07.
12.
The
Department is always encouraging the students to participate in the
paper presentation competitions organized across the state by
various Engineering Colleges. Till now more than 60 students have
participated in various workshops/seminars/paper presentation
competitions across the state and own the
prizes.

Training Programs for Faculty
members
The
department is organizing in-house and out house training programs to
bring awareness among the faculty members on the latest technologies
and the industry requirements so that the faculty can train the
students according to the needs of the industry. Hence the students
coming out of the department are ready for
industry.
