DEPARTMENT OF
ELECTRONICS & COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING
B.Tech Laboratories
EDCLAB-
This
is the basic devices lab. This lab is used by 2nd year ECE, EEE,
students. This lab gives the basic knowledge and characteristics of
semiconductor devices like diodes, transistors (BJT, FET….) and
special diodes. In this lab students will also learn the functioning
of a cathode ray oscilloscope, signal generator, regulated power
supply. The student will also learn how to measure resistance,
capacitance, voltage, current & frequency. From this ,the
student can enhance his
knowledge to develop different applications.
ECLAB-
From
the knowledge gained in EDC lab and with some additional inputs the
students in ECA lab can design voltage regulators, AF and RF
amplifiers and AF oscillators. In this lab the student will also
learn how to use multisim software. By using multisim one can design
and simulate different type of amplifiers, voltage regulators and
oscillators the experiments implemented on multisim can also be
designed using bread board.
PDCLAB-
In
this lab the students will acquire the knowledge of constructing the
wave shaping circuits using basic components like diodes,
transistors and studies the characteristics. The student will be
able to design a mutlivibrator which is nothing but a wave generator
uses in many applications and analyze the same. They will study the
switching characteristics of active devices like diode, transistor
(BJT, UJT).
ACLAB-
This
is the basic communication lab. In this lab the students will learn
the necessity of modulation.
The students will study the basic analog modulation
techniques like amplitude modulation and demodulation, frequency
modulation and demodulation. The students will also observe the
spectral analysis of modulations like AM, FM. The student will do
the experiment which constitutes various blocks of transmitter and
receiver. This lab, lead the students to study various applications
of communications. With the knowledge gained from this lab the
student will be able to deal with advanced communication labs
easily.
LICALAB-
In
this lab the students will practically learn the basic op-amp
characteristics and its applications. A student is able to design
circuits using op-amp like filters amplifiers, waveform generators,
A/D converters. The
same can be implemented using 555 timers. The students will design
multivibrators by using 555 timers which is an important block in
digital modulators and demodulators.
DCLAB-
From
the knowledge gained in AC lab the students in this lab will do the
experiments like pulse amplitude modulation, pulse width modulation
and pulse position modulation. The student will learn different wave
form coding techniques like pulse code modulation, differential
pulse code modulation and delta modulation. The student will also
learn the advantages of multiplexing from studying time division
multiplexing. This lab enhances the knowledge towards various
applications with digital transmission such as telephone, TV, data
and other communications.
MP&ILAB-
In
this lab the student will be able to develop the assembly language
programming code for given application. The student can generate
MASM Code for the given ALP and at the same time able to run the
code using any of the simulators MASM/TASM. one can interface
peripheral devices to a given micro processor like key board,
display, A/D converter, stepper motor etc... Using the programmable
peripheral interface 8255. The student can also gain the basic
knowledge of serial Data communication. The student will also the
acquire the basics of microcontroller 8051.
ECADLAB-
Students
in ECAD lab perform the experiments using the software VHDL/VERILOG,
VLSIdesign suite and modelsim simulator. A student can also
synthesize the designed program using SPARTAN-II and III FPGAs
available in the lab. This lab also gives the advanced feature of
designing any sort of VLSI circuit and can check its output both by
simulation and synthesis Which gives realistic results as that on
offer embedding on to a silicon wafer of the same digital
circuit
DSPLAB-
From
this lab the student will able to learn how to simulate the filters
by varying the specifications using MAT lab. This lab
introduces DSP
processors to student, where the student executes C programs on DSP
processor for obtaining the characteristics of the filters. it
enhances the capability of the student to design filters with
various specifications.
MW/OpticalCommunicationlab-
In this lab the student is able to know how to generate
and transmit a microwave signal over a micro wave bench. In this lab
one measures the parameters like attenuation, Frequency, wave length
and scattering parameters of various microwave passive devices. In
OFC experiments students generate light signal and study various
optical sources. They learn how the light signal can carry the
information over an optical fiber from transmitter to receiver and
the modulation technique involved in this optical communication.
This lab extends the students ability to engineer microwave signals
for practical application in RADAR and Satellite
communications.
M.Tech Laboratories
ES
– I
This
laboratory is used by M.Tech I semester students. This lab gives the
in depth knowledge of 8051. Introduction to ARM Processor. Students
are trained to use Keil Software. This Laboratory is equipped with
all sorts of Embedded Systems Designing Tools.
ES
– II
PSOC
(Programmable System on Chip), Analog and Digital, and Advanced
Embedded Systems Concepts are learnt here.
SIGNAL
PROCESSING
MATLAB
is core Software in this laboratory. Here in this lab students are
given with the best methodologies to design and simulate the Digital
Filters. Every student will be at that level, where he can write an
own code to use DWT and WT (Present Market needs this
concepts).
